Kate Wyatt's October 13th Update
Buenos tardes, amigos!I know it has hardly been one week since I last wrote, but I wanted to send a special email thanking everyone for your wonderful prayers over the last two months. It makes being here a whole lot easier knowing that I have such a huge support base back in the States. Thank you also for your wonderful emails, letters and cards that keep arriving. I was afraid that the mail might stop a few months after I got here, but I am wrong so far, and I hope I stay wrong. I do my best to write back; it may not be right away, but I try.
For those of you who receive my emails and think that I receive too many replies already, and that you don't want to burden me with more mail to read, BURDEN ME! I love hearing about what is going on where you live, and what is happening in your lives. When I return in July, I already must brace myself for the change in landscape thanks to Hurricane Isabel. I don't want another shock when we go out for coffee, or lunch and you've lost 30 pounds, or dyed your hair purple, or what have you.
The real reason I am writing this email is really to thank you for your prayers of late. As of today, God has given us a house in Corozal Town. The owner is a Christian woman who lives in the States with her husband. The house is in a good part of town, it's right across the street from some friends of ours whose little girl is in my class at school. The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and also has vaulted ceilings which helps with the heat. Made completely out of cement block, it will withstand any hurricane that comes our way, plus we are within walking distance of the market where we buy produce, the post office, and the town square, not to mention very close to the water.
I love you all and miss you more. I pray that God blesses you in ways that you never imagined.
Love, Kate ><>
