GENERAL CONVENTION 2006: Do you want to know what’s going on? Want to ask questions—be informed? Join us today at 3 pm in the Parish Hall. The Rev. Richard Crocker from the VA Chapter of the AAC (American Anglican Council) will be our guest speaker.

WALK FOR SUDAN Please join Hope for Humanity’s Third Annual “Walk for Sudan” on Sun., May 7 at 2:00 pm. The walk is 2 miles (or however long) at the Deep Run HS track (4801 Twin Hickory Rd, Glen Allen, VA) Registration begins at 1:30 pm. See the big bulletin board for more information and on how to make a tax deductible contribution.

THE CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER will hold its 2006 Walk for Life at 10 am on Sat., May 13, departing from Immanuel Baptist Church (corner of Thompson and Monument). Help support this local mission by walking and asking friends and family to make pledges to sponsor you, or sponsor someone you know who is walking. Proceeds from the walk allow the center to provide assistance free of charge to women facing crisis and unplanned pregnancies. For a brochure on how to participate, call the CPC, 266-9555. For sponsor sheets or to sponsor a walker call Marianne Micks, 288-4487.

UTO: Mark your calendars and count your blessings! The United Thank Offering (UTO) ingathering will be in four weeks from today, on May 21st. Begin filling the blue boxes found in the Narthex, or the blue envelopes in the pews on UTO Sunday.


YOUTH NEWS

Jr. High Bible Studies begin Mon., May 15, 7-8:00 pm. Join your 6th-8th grade friends each week as we study the Gospel of Mark. We’ll meet in the library together, then boys and girls will attend separate bible studies. Email or call Jill and Todd Rich, 740-1541, therichfamily5@verizon.net.

COLLEGE STUDENTS AND HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS — We would love to have the latest info on you! Please fill out the forms located in the Narthex and Parish Hall so we can stay a part of your busy lives. We also would like to honor our Graduates and welcome home our College students at the 10:30 service, June 4th. Parents please help us. Forms can be returned to the church, or faxed to 288-6554.

Anyone interested in joining St. Matthew's or just learning more is asked to attend the DISCOVERY class offered regularly throughout the year. Please indicate your interest on a pew card and drop it in the offering plate or hand it to one of the clergy.

St. Matthew's is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia. The Rt. Rev. Peter James Lee is Bishop. The Rt. Rev. David Colin Jones is Bishop Suffragan.

All baptized Christians who would receive communion in their own church are welcome to receive communion here.
