WALK FOR SUDAN Please join Hope for Humanity’s Third Annual “Walk for Sudan” today at 2:00 pm. The walk is 2 miles (or however long) at the Deep Run HS track (4801 Twin Hickory Rd, Glen Allen, VA) Registration begins at 1:30 pm. See the big bulletin board for more information and on how to make a tax deductible contribution.

THE CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER will hold its 2006 Walk for Life at 10 am on Sat., May 13, departing from Immanuel Baptist Church (corner of Thompson and Monument). Help support this local mission by walking and asking friends and family to make pledges to sponsor you, or sponsor someone you know who is walking. Proceeds allow the center to provide free assistance to women facing crisis and unplanned pregnancies. For a brochure on how to participate, call the CPC, 266-9555. MOTHER’S DAY CAKE SALE: Calling all Dads who want to make their wives’ Mother's Day the best ever! The Christian Children’s Ministry needs you to buy a cake for Mother’s Day to help us support the Christian children’s Fund and Compassion International. The Cake Sale will take place in the Parish Hall after church on May 14th. If you would like to bake a cake for the sale, please bring it to the Parish Hall before the 10:30 service marked for the “Cake Sale.” The cakes will cost $8.00, so be ready with money in hand to make this a special Mother’s Day!

UTO SUNDAY, May 21: The United Thank Offering (UTO) gives each of us an opportunity to express tangible thanks to God for our many blessings. In offering prayers and money, we can reach out to our neighbors around the world. Blue UTO envelopes will be in the bulletin on the 21st and you can pick up a “blue box” today in the Narthex. ECW Spring Open Board Meeting on Tues., May 23 at Christ Church, Spotsylvania. Dr. Inez Tuck will be the keynote speaker on the topic “Achieving Balance: Mind-Body-Spirit.” Check out her website at www.nursing.vcu.edu/is/Faculty/Tuck/tuck. Jr. High Bible Studies begin Mon., May 15, 7-8:00 pm. Join your 6th-8th grade friends each week as we study the Gospel of Mark. We’ll meet in the library together, then boys and girls will attend separate bible studies. Email or call Jill and Todd Rich, 740-1541, therichfamily5@verizon.net.

ALL ABOARD FOR VBS 2006! The Gospel Express is rolling down the tracks at St. Matt’s on July 24-28. It is going to be a great ride for kids Preschool-5th grade. Registration forms are available this week in the office. Volunteers (teens-adult) are needed.
